Mix thoroughly the shortening, sugar, eggs, and flavoring. Blend in 2 cups of flour, TMF tends to try and mix the flour as little as possible. She also saves 1/2 to roll into the dough later. Otherwise they can be too floury.
Cover and chill for at least 1 hour (TMF usually chills overnight)
Heat overn to 400 degrees fahrenheit. Roll dough 1/8 thick on cloth-covered board. Cut into desired shapes and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 6-8 minutes until light brown. (TMF just uses countertop, not cloth-covered board, and uses the rest of the flour here, covering the counter and rolling pin to prevent sticking).
The frosting is just the buttercream frosting on the Domino confectioner sugar package.
